The borrowing service enables you to borrow various documents from the library.
This is a exclusive service for the ELISAVA community, and to use it you must have a library card, which is the same as the ELISAVA card.
The Collective Catalogue of the Universities of Catalonia (CCUC) is a catalogue that can help you to find the information that is not in ELISAVA's library.
It contains over 3,700,000 bibliographic records and it provides access to over 8,000,000 physical documents kept in over 160 libraries.
If you are interested in a document from another university, an interlibrary loan can be requested, and the document will be sent to the library so you can consult it there (you cannot take it out on loan): firstname.lastname@example.org
All the library areas are covered by a wireless Internet connection network.
It can be accessed with an ELISAVA username and password.
All the tables in the library have sockets where laptops can be plugged in.
The library has a black and white photocopier/printer.
A card is required to use it, which can be obtained from the university copy shop.
Five A4 size scanners are also available for you to use.
The library offers customised sessions for tutors and groups of users interested in a specific subject or in a specific resource.
To help users who cannot attend a session in person, or who prefer to learn at their own pace, the library provides quick user guides in the Information Resources section.
The library recommends bibliographic reference manager Mendeley which is used by most university libraries in Catalonia.
Mendeley allows you to create a proprietary database where you can keep, organize and shape the references obtained from one or multiple databases, bibliographies drawn in different citation styles and incorporate them into text documents, databases, sharing references data, or publishing bibliographies on the Internet. You can open a free basic account at this address http://www.mendeley.com/
